Muswellbrook takes pride in delivering an excellent education in a safe and supportive learning environment.

The competitive arena awaits students with the chance to excel in public speaking, debating, web design, student newspapers, environmental management and much more with great effort. 

Teachers use a variety of strategies to assess each student’s work. This includes observing their work in class and looking closely at the work they put effort into which they produce throughout the year. Each student is monitored carefully, on their progress and are provided additional learning support if needed.

The school is committed to working with Aboriginal parents and community members in developing personalized plans for their Aboriginal students.Muswellbrook has selective high schools that provide a challenging environment where high-achieving, academically gifted students can reach their potential.

Students can unleash their creative flair through dance and drama performances, competitions, exhibitions and enrichment programs. Students with particular interests and talents can participate in local and state-wide activities in visual arts, music, dance and drama. These artistic performanes or drawings are presented and are well enjoyed.

Muswellbrook includes physical activity programs for children from Kindergarten to year 6, with a focus on fundamental movement skills.

The Public school has an enjoyable and fun school camp which is one of the highlights of the student’s childhood.

Chances are they will still remember some of the campfire songs, the smell of damper cooking and the names of the kids they bunked with.

A range of services is available to support families, including translation and interpreter services, adult education, adult English programs and telephone counselling services. The environment welcomes and respects people from all backgrounds with joy.
